The goal of event safety is to reduce the risk of damage or injuries to people, property and the environment when staging events as prescribed by the Safety at Sports & Recreational Events Act (SASREA).

The objective of this course is to provide information on preventing and mitigating major incidents or disasters at events, but also to ensure rapid and effective response in case of a major incident or a disaster that will:

  • Save lives;
  • Reduce exposure to risk;
  • Reduce suffering, as well as economic and social losses;
  • Protect property and the environment;
  • Provide for the safety and health of all responders and people working at the event.

The course are divided into modules and starts out with explaining the major concepts that needs to be understood and then follows a steps by step method to explain what ESM are, how to start them, plan them well, execute them successfully and close them when finished. Each lesson starts with an intro video, which is followed by the relevant content.
